Uses GLO Files as Translation Memory

Radialix version 2.13.00 allows linking GLO (Passolo) glossary files with a localization project and using them as translation memory. Simply drag a GLO file from Windows Explorer to the Translation Memory section in the project manager or to the Translation Memory toolbar.

These files can be opened and edited as translation memory projects, without prior importing.

Saving a GLO file creates an additional .settings file  in the folder with the original file; this additional file stores the data, not supported by the GLO format: comments, bookmarks, translation validity check options, etc. To maintain that data when copying the GLO file, make sure to also copy the associated .settings file.

Exports Multiple Files at Once

The export wizard now supports exporting multiple files at once. On the first page of the wizard, the files to be localized and the translation memory files are shown on separate tabs.

Export

To export data from multiple files at once, select the required files on the Files tab. When exporting multiple files, the wizard, instead of the field for entering the name of the new file, shows a field for specifying the folder, where the files are to be created.

Creates Dumps and Win32 Resource Injectors

Radialix version 2.13.00 supports creating dumps of executable file resources. This feature enables accessing encrypted resources.

To create a dump, select the Tools>Dump Win32 Resources command on the main menu. Then specify the name of the executable file. Radialix runs the specified file and copies the resources from the memory to the dump file. A dump file is a resource library, a file with the .lin extension, which can be localized as a regular resource library.

For the obtained resource library, you can create an injector — a resource loader to the application’s memory. To create an injector, select: Tools>Create Win32 Resource Injector. To create an injector, specify the resource library file and the corresponding executable file.

Create Injector

Radialix 2.13.00 supports creating dumps of resources and injectors for both 32-bit and 64-bit applications. A 64-bit operating system is required for performing these operations over 64-bit applications. 32-bit applications are supported in both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Creating dumps and injectors is supported only in NT-compatible operating systems (2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7).

Toolbar in Project Manager

In version 2.13.00, we have added a toolbar with the Add File, Add Language and Collapse All buttons to the Project Manager pane.

Improved Performance

In Radialix version 2.13.00, the operations of loading a project, updating resources and checking validity of translation take less time. Here is the timing for performing these operations for the project rdl.rdlp, included in the Radialix  distribution (less means better):

Reduced Amount of RAM Required for Translation Memory

In Radialix version 2.13.00, we were able to reduce the amount of RAM required for loading translation memory files (file size: 12MB, 2 languages, 81603 lines):
